FRIST GALA
Every year, the Frist Art Museum puts on a gala themed to an exhibition. My chosen exhibition was Houghton Hall: Portrait of a Country House. This exhibit highlights the art and architecture of Houghton Hall, one of England's grandest country houses. Throughout my pieces, I took inspiration from the house’s architecture as well as various patterns throughout the house’s wallpapers and textiles. The front of the invitation features line art of the house itself, opening to panels that take inspiration from the house’s wallpapers. Collateral pieces include an invitation and RSVP with corresponding envelopes, a menu, a booklet outlining the exhibition and the Frist’s donors, and a deck of playing cards as a takeaway item for gala guests.
